GAROLD (GARY) L. MARKLE Founder/Managing Principal
Gary Markle is the founder and managing principal of Energage Inc., a consulting firm dedicated to helping business leaders "energize and engage the human spirit at work." Energage provides coaching, training and consulting services that produce superior business results through people. Gary and his associates have assisted companies throughout the US and Canada in forming and improving their people development systems.
Gary is the author of the book CATALYTIC COACHING: The End of the Performance Review, which is currently in its sixth printing. It has a five-star rating on Amazon.com and has held a position in their top 5% of all books sold for 37 consecutive months. No More Performance Evaluations!, his second book, was recently released as a how-to guide to CATALYTIC COACHING. His work has been favorably reviewed in the Atlanta Business Chronicle and he's been interviewed and quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, and Detroit Free Press.
Gary is a longstanding speaker to the CEO and senior executive network Vistage (formerly TEC), for whom he's presented more than 400 workshops across the US, Canada and the UK. Gary is the past founder of a Vistage CEO think tank in Atlanta and the “2005 Speaker of the Year" for TEC Canada.
Prior to beginning a consulting and speaking practice, Markle served in senior level HR management and executive positions for four globally prominent companies: Exxon, Shell, Louisiana Land & Exploration and Columbian Chemicals Company. His most recent position was Vice President of Human Resources and member of the senior executive team for an international chemical company.
Gary has a Masters Degree in Organizational Communication from Purdue University, a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Wisconsin-- Milwaukee and Senior Executive Human Resources Certification from the University of Michigan Graduate School of Business. Nick brings to the company special insider expertise in Catalytic Coaching having served in not one, but two, large companies that successfully implemented the program around the world.
Nick has over 25 years of global operations experience in the chemical manufacturing industry with increasing levels of P&L responsibility in Maintenance, Operations, Quality Assurance, and Project Engineering. He has a proven track record of accomplishment in increasing top line growth and decreasing bottom line expenses. Throughout his career he’s been known for his ability to coach and develop talent while keeping an eye riveted on achieving financial success for the company.
Nick has two undergraduate degrees and an MBA in Business from the University of Southwestern Louisiana.
Nick and his wife Laurice live in Pittsburgh. They have two grown daughters.
ROBERT W. (BOB) COURSON II Director Compensation and Benefits Practice
Bob Courson brings more than 25 years of experience creating compensation and benefits solutions for companies of all shapes and sizes. His expertise is structuring compensation and benefits processes and programs that drive the client's strategic business goals and rewards employee contributions when financial results are achieved. Bob has expertise in benchmarking existing systems as well as developing programs for all employee levels, from administrative to executive. His broad knowledge of compensation systems and benefit program designs bring exceptional value to Energage clients and their employees.
DAN McNAIR Associate
Dan McNair adds to the Energage team an enthusiasm for leadership training and team building stemming from 10 years of developing high performance teams in both sports and in business. He brings to the company perspective from experience in corporate management, start-up leadership and as a business owner. A coach by personality, Dan enjoys helping others reach peak performance and fulfillment in their careers. A teacher and mentor to entrepreneurs and business leaders, Dan is passionate about developing leaders and helping them build championship teams through improved communication, increased trust and effective strategic planning.
Dan graduated from Wake Forest University as a student of economics and psychology. He is also a licensed, certified business coach through the IBCI.
Dan and his wife Jenny live in Roswell, GA where they volunteer as assistant coaches for the Georgia Tech Rowing Team.
Amy Marshall joined Energage, Inc. in July of 2007 as the Accounting Manager and has recently been promoted to Office Manager. In her current position, Amy is responsible for the day to day finances of Energage as well as the daily operations involved in running the office. She also plans and manages Gary’s travel arrangements and supports him on a daily basis. Prior to working with Energage, Amy filled a number of financial roles in different industries…she is one of the rare individuals who loves the logic of numbers.
Amy moved to the North Georgia Mountains in April of 2000, escaping the hustle and bustle of the Atlanta area. She lives in a very small town outside of Blue Ridge, GA with her husband and two children, Michael, age 15, and Ashlee, age 10.

PATTI GREATHOUSE Client Relations Manager
Patti started with Energage in July 2008 as the Client Relations Manager. Prior to joining the Energage team she worked in sales and marketing for more than twenty years. She received an Associate of Applied Science Degree from Austin Community College and worked in the computer field for a number of years. In 1987 Patti met and married Tom, who owned Greathouse Productions Inc., a promotional advertising products company selling to organizations all across the US with numerous sales contractors. Patti joined GPI and helped double the size of the business. In 1999 Patti decided she’d like to do something apart from GPI and she got her Real Estate license. After all, she has the name for it… She worked in model homes for builders in Florida selling new homes with much success.
Patti is originally from Oklahoma City, but grew up in the panhandle of Texas. She has also lived in New Mexico, Florida and now Georgia. In January of 2005 Patti and her husband decided to move to the North Georgia Mountains for a more laid back lifestyle. She and Tom live in a cabin in the woods with Paco (her Chihuahua) and Jackson (Tom’s Poodle). Patti has two daughters (one in CT and another in TX), a stepson (in Atlanta), and a stepdaughter (in Manhattan). She and Tom have also been blessed with seven grandchildren. For a while, Patti moved every two years but now she plans to stay put. She loves where she is and really enjoys helping people at Energage.

GAIL COURSEN MARKLE Webmaster and Newsletter Editor
Gail has been with Energage since 2005. She currently manages the company website, designs and distributes the company newsletter, as well as designs brochures, electronic forms and any other digital needs for the company.
Prior to joining Energage, Gail volunteered for various organizations doing newsletters and other clerical needs while raising three children. In 2002 Gail decided to rejoin the workforce and found a job with Air Quality Sciences as Project Manager for three years.
Gary and Gail have a home in the North Georgia Mountains that they share with three of their favorite four legged friends.
